Advantages of Solar

Advantages of Solar Energy

Government Incentives

The Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC), was created to provide incentive for businesses to pursue renewable energy sources. This tax credit is equal to 30% of the gross project cost. This will phase down to 25%, 22% and finally to 10% over the next 4 years, respectively. Effective utilization of available incentive programs can dramatically reduce the upfront cost of solar while providing a predictable long-term revenue stream.

Attractive ROI

With rapid payback, strong internal rates of return, and a predictable cash flow stream, commercial solar projects can deliver outstanding long-term investment returns for businesses. In addition to dramatic reductions in your company’s ongoing electricity costs, in many cases, a commercial solar project can generate incremental revenue, effectively creating a new profit center.

Environmentally Friendly

Requiring zero fuel, solar energy is a great alternative to traditional fossil fuels. Utilizing energy created by the sun, solar does not release any harmful greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide (CO2), sulphur dioxide (SO2), ammonia (NH3), particulate matter (PM10) and nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are all present from coal and gas. Unlike nuclear energy, solar energy does not produce radioactive waste, is renewable, and freely available.

Protection from Energy Inflation

Electricity prices will continue to increase over time. On average, annual increases between 2.5% and 4% are expected. Solar never increases and protects you from this type of inflation. Installing a solar PV system on your roof limits or even eliminates the amount of energy you’ll have to buy at increased prices from the utility company.

While there are several alternative renewable energy sources available like wind and hydro-power, solar is much more affordable and easily accessible to businesses and homeowners.

Marketing and Public Relations Benefits

Solar conversion will position your business as a forward-thinking, environmental leader. Your customers, employees, vendors, shareholders and neighbors will be fully aware of your corporate commitment to the environment and your local community.

Low Maintenance

Solar systems require very little to no maintenance. Although rain is often enough to keep the panels rinsed, we do recommend an annual hose rinse.
